Our history


In 2003 Vittorio Caligari and Marco Babbi founded the "Ortofrutta Caligari e Babbi" in Savignano sul Rubicone, selling local fruit and fennel, a typical winter vegetable that the company has been selling even in the hottest months since the beginning.

After three years, the company chose to leave the fruit sale, and specialize in the processing and distribution of fennel only. It was the beginning of a story that still goes on, where technological innovation has rooted thanks to our experience.

In 2015 we obtained the IFS and GLOBALGAP certifications. In the same year we started the direct production in our farm, which was certified in 2017.

The relentless growth has made the company expansion necessary: the new 4,000sqm warehouse has been operating since 2020. In the same year we also obtained the BIO certification.

This work is made of people. We know what working the land means, and for this reason we stay close to the producers we collaborate with. They have always been with us and we are bound to them by a firm mutual respect. The new Finò headquarters have been designed based on our employees' needs: the quality we want to grant goes hand in hand with their well-being.
